Erasmo Caballero fights for a place in the Clásico

The catcher from Chirica seeks to contribute to the Panamanian national baseball team.

Chirican catcher Erasmo Caballero is one of the local players looking to earn a spot with the Panama National Team with a view to qualifying for the World Baseball Classic to be played at Rod Carew Stadium from September 30 to October 5.

Caballero, winner of the Triple Crown of major national baseball and Most Valuable Player of the 2022 championship, stressed that he is working hard like his teammates for this competition.

“It’s a big commitment that we know we must fulfill. Everyone is committed to the team and we have to go out and do the work,” Caballero said in an interview with the press department of the Panamanian Baseball Federation (Fedebeis).

Panama will seek a place in the World Baseball Classic against Nicaragua, New Zealand, Brazil, Pakistan and Argentina.
