The criticism of the World Cup in Qatar does not stop even a few months before the start.
Now DFB coach Hansi Flick is also reporting on the cause. In an interview with the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, the 57-year-old answered the question about the correctness of the award.
“This question should have been answered much earlier. And with a no. It’s obvious that a lot is wrong in Qatar when it comes to human rights and sustainability,” says the DFB coach in clear words.
Despite all this, the German national team will compete in the tournament in winter, and Flick also provides an explanation for this: “But for coaches and players, it’s the World Cup, the biggest event where success is required. That’s what we’re evaluated for. In the end, by too the public who ask me political questions.”
