Airlines grows, Macri does not want it

Aerolineas Argentinas announced that from December it will begin to operate two weekly frequencies to Merlo, San Luis, on a regular basis. The flights will be every Thursday and Sunday and are already available on the company’s website. “Announcing a new destination is always special because each plane with tourists is income, sources of work and growth. We hope that these flights add muscle to the development of tourism in the province of San Luis”, said Pablo Ceriani, head of the airline.

This is the first time that Aerolineas commercializes the route with a regular schedule. Since in other times it operated in charter mode or as a special flight.

In addition, Aerolineas flies 9 weekly frequencies to the City of San Luis, a route that has been increasing its frequencies since December of last year, when it operated 5 weekly frequencies. Then, in January 2022 they became 7 and in July 2 extra frequencies were added.

In this way, Aerolineas adds a new destination to its coverage of 37 cities in Argentina, 48 intersections or federal routes and 21 international destinations. The connectivity provided by the airline is fundamental for the promotion of productive, tourist and social activities.

The announcement of a new destination for Aerolineas Argentinas generated a strong repercussion in San Luis.

“It is a historical fact and we comply with a direct request from Governor Alberto Rodríguez Saá to manage the flights between Aeroparque and the Valle del Conlara airport with Aerolineas Argentinas. We have been working since 2019 in this regard and today we can announce the completion,” said the province’s transport secretary, Sebastián Anzulovich.

Airlines has already enabled online ticket sales on its website. The first flight will be on December 1st and will take off from the Jorge Newbery Airport at 11:00 a.m. and will arrive at the Valle del Conlara airport at 12:50 p.m.

Macri does not want her

Despite the importance of the company, former president Mauricio Macri charged against the company again and assured that if he returned to power he would privatize it. “There is no more space to continue stealing money from people with unpayable taxes, taking part of their salary to squander the money on things that lead to nothing. 700 million dollars per year instead of building schools, roads, better internet, having fiscal balance. Aerolineas is transformed into something emblematic of the Argentina that has to come.”, He pointed out.

Ceriani responded to the accusations on Tuesday. “The loss that Macri talks about corresponds to his last year of government. In 2021, the Airlines deficit was reduced by 35 percent compared to 2019 and year after year we are going to continue improving its performance but with growth and expansion, not with adjustment and at the expense of connectivity”.

Macri also said that Kirchnerism had “thrown out Latam.” “Another lie from Macri. Latam left the country after losing 300 million dollars in 2018 and 2019. Andes, Norwegian and Avian also had millionaire losses and stopped operating in those years. Even the companies that are still flying today were at a loss during his management, ”Ceriani wrote in a thread of messages on Twitter.

“Once again, the former president shows his ignorance about the sector and a great insensitivity to what the arrival of a plane full of passengers means for the regional economies and for the Argentines who live there,” Ceriani closed. .
