'The house of the dragon': character guide not to get lost in the successful prequel to 'Game of Thrones' on HBO Max

Five episodes of ‘The House of the Dragon’ and we have already seen how events pass quickly due to the jumps of months and even years between one chapter and another of the prequel to ‘Game of Thrones‘.

But the biggest will happen now, since the sixth episode, which we will see next Monday in hbo maxtrae I get a jump of several years (about a decade) and with it, important changes in the cast. Or, depending on how you look at it, the main cast announced for the series is finally complete.

And it is that after the bloody end of episode 5, we have to say goodbye to Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, the young Rhaenyra Targayen and Alicent Hightower, whom we had already grown fond of. These will be replaced by their more adult counterparts: Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke… and we have already been able to see them in the first preview of the next chapter.

the dragons grow

They will not be the only changes in the castsince we will also have the young Velaryon played by John Macmillan as Laenor and Nanna Blondell as Laena in his mature age. These replace Theo Nate and Savannah Steyn, respectively.

In addition, in this second half of the first season the new generations begin to be important: the sons and grandsons of Viserys which, in turn, will grow throughout the series. Thus, we will see Ty Tennant like Aegon Targaryens Eve Allen as Helena and Leo Ashton like Aemond, the king’s sons and Alicent; a Leo Hart like Jacaerys and Harvey Sadler such as Lucerys, Rhaenyra’s elders, and presumably Laenor.

The “adult” cast remains, on the other hand, unchanged. So we will continue to see Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel and company in the remainder of the season.
