Rockstar Games Confirms GTA VI Leaks Were Real

Yesterday the internet exploded when alleged GTA VI leaks came to light. Between a fairly high number of photos and some videos, all users on social networks began to think that this would mean that, if confirmed, we would have a trailer or teaser for the game soon. It was not until today that Rockstar Games spoke through Twitter, confirming that the leaks were real, and that this will not mean the delay of any of their projects.

Rockstar Games speaks out after GTA VI leaks

In their statement, Rockstar has mentioned that these GTA VI leaks were stolen through a hack to their network. Also, this hasn’t meant a live issue for any of their already released games, as their servers have been running normally. What surprised everyone is that they announced that this has not meant anything “harmful” for their next projects and that they will continue with their usual schedule:

We recently experienced an intrusion into our network, in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded sensitive information from our systems, including early development footage of the upcoming GTA. At this time, we have not had any interruptions to our live gaming services, nor any long-term effects on the development of our future projects.

We are extremely disappointed that details of our next game are being shared with all of you in this way. Our work on the next GTA game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to providing you, our players, with an experience that truly exceeds your expectations. We will update everyone again soon and of course we will introduce you to this next game when it is ready. We want to thank everyone for their continued support through this situation.

With this, it has been confirmed that all the leaks that we have been able to see from GTA VI are completely real. Some rumors indicated that these hackers had the source code of GTA V and VI, and that they would be threatening Rockstar to publish them. However, the company has not commented on this and everything seems to indicate that they are continuing the development of the title normally.
