Paolo Roberto on the sex purchase: "The shame is hard to bear"

Two years have passed since the TV profile and the entrepreneur Paolo Roberto53, was arrested at the exclusive address Grevgatan 10 on Östermalm in Stockholm.

In an apartment, Paolo had bought sex from a woman from one of “Europe’s poorest countries”. Paolo, who was then at the peak of his career, had paid the woman SEK 1,500.

Paolo Roberto tried to lie to the police: “Was on a Tinder date”

Several months after Paolo was arrested, parts of the investigation revealed how Paolo had tried to lie to the police when he was arrested.

“The man is very nervous and cannot answer who he has been with in the stairwell but first says it was a Tinder date but then changes his mind and says it is an Italian friend,” the previously confidential investigation read.

After the sex scandal, Paolo lost “everything”. He was immediately fired from TV4, where he had been the presenter of “Farmen” and “Robinson”. He was also fired from his food brand Paolos, and from the radio channel Rix FM.

Paolo Roberto has started the podcast “Paolo’s podcast”

The relationship with the then girlfriend Elin Härkönen that also ended after a while. Elin has now moved on and is with the boxer Anthony Yigit31.

In order to make a living and pay the rent, Paolo has offered PT passes in his villa in Nacka, and he has also started a new food brand in the form of Robertos, which sells olive oils and other Italian delicacies.

On Instagram, Paolo has over 130,000 followers, and there Paolo often updates with training tips and inspiring mottos.

But now it’s not just training and food that applies to Paolo Roberto – he’s back in the media spotlight again.

Paolo Roberto’s own words about the scandal: “It’s a damn hard thing to say”

In the latest episode of “Paolo’s podcast”, he has a guest in the studio in the form of the future priest Werner Björklang and in the episode the duo talk about shame, Christianity, twelve-step programs and forgiveness, among other things.

Paolo then talks about how his life turned out after the sex-buying scandal.

– I have tried to avoid what I have done. I usually say “min fadäs” and stuff like that and then I always get shit. When I bought sex. That’s a damn hard thing to say. I got rid of everything. I just want to say now, because everyone is always like this “now he’s crying out”. I’m not crying, I just want to tell you about my experience. I want to tell you what happened, says Paolo Roberto in his podcast.

Paolo also tells us that he believes he has done wrong, but has now apologized and paid his fine. Paolo also says that it was a “damn hard journey” in his life, but that he doesn’t blame anyone else.

Paolo Roberto on the media drive: “Everyone is watching one”

– It was me who did it and no one else. It was super heavy. I was on the tabloids and all the news. I got rid of everything. All my companies, says Paolo in his podcast.

He also talks about the media drive against him and how it affected his well-being.

– I don’t think people who have been part of that type of media drive understand the feeling. The express stands with cars outside and takes photographs. You show up in town and everyone looks at you. The massive shame you feel is incredibly hard to bear, says Paolo Roberto in his podcast.
