Monday September 19 is the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96 and after 70 years of reign on the British throne. More than 2,000 prestigious guests are expected at Westminster Abbey.

This Monday, September 19, time stands still in the United Kingdom and in many countries around the world for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, died on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96. After 70 years of reign, his son Charles, who became King Charles III, succeeded him. After ten days of national mourning marked by many tributes, the state funeral of the late sovereign is held in London with more than 2,000 guests. Among them, many current and past heads of state and many crowned heads. French President Emmanuel Macron is of course present in Westminster.

The ceremony in Westminster Abbey should last one hour, starting at noon (French time); then the coffin will be transported to Wellington Arch, at Hyde Park Corner, before being placed in a hearse, direction Windsor. The last stage will take place at the chapel of Saint-Georges, where a religious service will be held at 5 p.m., before the burial at 8:30 p.m. of Elizabeth II, in the strictest privacyalongside her father George VI, her mother Elizabeth, the ashes of her sister, Princess Margaret, and of course her husband, Prince Philip.
