Not only when it comes to food, customers have to Kaufland, rewe and Co. have been digging deep into their pockets for weeks. Now comes the next price shock!
Personal hygiene is also becoming more and more of a costly affair. Crazy how much a bar of soap at Kaufland, rewe and other supermarkets meanwhile costs.
Kaufland, Rewe and Co: THIS soap is outrageously expensive
While a few used to belong to the so-called “penny foxes”, almost everyone is now one. But the search for an inexpensive offer seems like looking for a needle in a haystack at the moment.
A price comparison of specific branded products since September 2021 by the supermarket comparison app “Smhaggle” only makes the misery even clearer. The soap from Dove particularly stands out, as “Bild” reports.
This is Kaufland:
- founded in 1968, company headquarters in Neckarsulm (Baden-Württemberg)
- the company operates around 1,300 branches, 667 of which are in Germany, and has around 132,000 employees
- the chain is also present in Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia and the Republic of Moldova
- is a subsidiary of the Schwarz Group (like Lidl)
Sobering result: higher price for less soap
In a year, Dove soap has gone up 72.5 percent in price. In 2021, customers in the supermarket still paid 0.69 euros a piece, in September 2022 it will be 1.19 euros. In addition, consumers have 10 grams less to scrub their hands with. Since April, the bar of soap has only weighed 90 instead of 100 grams.
