One of the great novelties of iOS 16 is the customization of the lock screen. A customization that allows us, among other things, to add a wide variety of widgets to the screen. Thanks to these widgets we can open any app without even having to unlock our iPhone.

When it comes to being able to open apps from widgets, we have two options. One is that the same app offers us a widget that allows us exactly this. The other is go to the Shortcuts app. Thanks to this we can open any app, the one we want. Doing it is very easy, let’s start by creating the necessary shortcut.

  1. We open the app shortcuts on our iPhone.
  2. We touch the “+” button in the upper right.
  3. At the bottom, in the search engine, keyboards, “Open app”.
  4. Click on open app.
  5. we touch on apps.
  6. We choose the one that interests us.
  7. we touch okay.

In order to add this shortcut as a widget, at least for now, we need go to a third-party app: Lockflow, free on the App Store. Once installed, we continue with these steps:

  1. We open the app LockFlow on our iPhone.
  2. we touch on Begin.
  3. We touch the “+” in the upper right.
  4. In Name we write the one for the shortcut we just created.
  5. We select a symbol.
  6. we touch Add.

Now we move to the lock screen and add the widget. We do so:

  1. We lock the iPhone and hold down on the wallpaper.
  2. we touch on Personalize.
  3. We touch the area of the widgets.
  4. We seek and touch LockFlow.
  5. We added a tiny widget.
  6. We touch it on the home screen.
  7. We choose the shortcut that we want to execute.

In iOS 16 we can do almost anything from the lock screen. here are some ideas

Clever. Now with a simple touch on the corresponding icon we can open any app. The options are obviously many. From launching the calculator to quickly opening any photography app we use through Messages, Mail or any social network, everything is just a touch away.
