Allegedly, it cannot be that we will be removed for a long time. But I am sure that no one will return us anywhere in the near future, ”Guberniev is quoted as saying. RIA News.

He also stressed that at the World Aquatics Championship no one asked why there were no Russian athletes.

“In this sense, I believe that this is a long time, and I urge everyone to prepare for the fact that we will miss the next two Olympics. Russian athletes will spend this time away from France and Italy, ”Guberniev concluded.

The IOC recommended that sports federations not allow Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.

The head of the organization, Thomas Bach, said that one of the options for the return of domestic athletes to international tournaments is to perform without national symbols.

The 2024 Summer Olympics will be held in Paris. The next Winter Games will take place in Milan in 2026.
