The Kings Felipe VI and Letizia have been seated next to the emeritus at the funeral of Elizabeth II in Westminster Abbey in the second row. Don Felipe is in a corner next to Queen Letizia, next to which is Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía. Next to the queen emeritus is Queen Sonia of Norway and next to her is King Harald.

It’s the first public image of the kings with the emeritus since January 2020, when the funeral of the infanta Pilar, sister of Don Juan Carlos, was held. On Sunday, upon arrival in London, Felipe VI and Letizia avoided meeting Juan Carlos I at public events related to the death of Queen Elizabeth. They went separately to the funeral chapel. Felipe VI and his father were at the reception offered by Carlos III at Buckingham Palace and presumably they met, but this act did not have the presence of the press.
