At 10:00 p.m. central Mexico time, Tropical Storm Madeline was moving northwest at 15 km/h. (km/h), has maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h and gusts of 100 km/h.

It is located approximately 260 kilometers (km) west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, Jalisco, and 450 km south-southeast of Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur.

Its cloud bands will cause intense rains (from 75 to 150 millimeters [mm]) in areas of Nayarit and Sinaloa, very strong (from 50 to 75 mm) in Jalisco, strong (from 25 to 50 mm) in areas of Colima and Michoacán, as well as showers (from 5 to 25 mm) in the south of Baja California Sur, in addition to winds with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h and waves of 2 to 4 meters (m) high on the coasts of Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit and southern Sinaloa.

The rainfall could generate landslides, increase in the levels of rivers and streams, and overflows and floods in low-lying areas, for which the population is urged to heed the warnings of the SMN and follow the indications of the state, municipal and Civil Protection authorities. Maritime navigation is called to take extreme precautions due to winds and waves off the coasts of the mentioned states.

At dawn, Minimum temperatures of 0 to 5 degrees Celsius are expected in high areas of Chihuahua, Durango, State of Mexico, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.

On the other hand, in the afternoon the warm environment will continue over most of the country, so maximum temperatures of 35 to 40 degrees Celsius are forecast in Baja California, Campeche, Coahuila, Nuevo León, Sonora, Tamaulipas, and Yucatán, and from 30 to 35 degrees Celsius in Baja California Sur, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Durango, Guerrero, Michoacán, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Sinaloa, Tabasco and Veracruz.

Wind with gusts of 60 to 70 km/h and waves of 2 to 4 m high are forecast on the coasts of Baja California Sur, Nayarit and Sinaloa, as well as wind with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h and waves of 1 to 3 m on the coast of Jalisco. For Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas and Zacatecas, wind with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h is expected.

The weather conditions described above will be caused by the circulation of tropical storm Madelinea low pressure channel off the coasts of Tamaulipas and Veracruz, in interaction with the monsoon trough that will extend very close to the coast of the Mexican South Pacific and with the entry of moisture from the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.
