The train that covers Extremadura-Madrid is again negative news, in this case sad. The second serious incident on Monday afternoon has ended with a deceased person being hit by the train Intercity Badajoz-Madrid that he left at 5:36 p.m. and that he is currently detained, since 8:10 p.m. between La Bazagona and Casatejada station, in the province of Cceres, where the event took place.

The person was on the road at the time of impact at an “unauthorized point of passage”, as confirmed by Adif. The accident train belongs to line 193, a Long Distance Intercity that connects Badajoz with the Madrid-Atocha station.

Renfe has activated the protocol established for these cases and has notified the emergency and security services. In addition, it has launched a reserve train from Madrid which is headed to Navalmoral de la Mata (Cceres) to carry out the transfer of passengers once the judicial authority authorizes it, as reported by the railway entity itself. Therefore, the line remains dead until the judge picks up the corpse. But, from Adif they point out that the train could be damaged as a result of the crash and the passengers would have to transfer to another vehicle.

SECOND INCIDENCE IN THE AFTERNOON

The crash has not produced any injuries among railway personnel or among the 161 passengers traveling in the convoy, nor has it caused injuries to the truck driver, although the locomotive has been damaged and out of service.
