Cristiano Ronaldo repeatedly expressed his desire to move from Manchester United during the summer transfer window, and now the President of the Saudi Arabian Football Association, Yasser Almisehal, has responded.

Ronaldo and the fairytale comeback to the “Red Devils” is anything but “fairytale” to describe. The superstar struggles on the island, and the relationship with trainer Erik Ten Hag is anything but relaxed.

Speaking to The Athletic, Almisehal explains how Ronaldo’s move would affect the Peninsula: “It would bring huge positive feedback and it would be big news for everyone. I’m sure everyone will appreciate Cristiano’s achievements and records Ronaldo knows.”

It is well known that money is loose in the kingdom. Almisehal is confident: “I think: why not? I’m sure it would obviously be a very expensive deal, but we can see that our clubs have had higher revenues in recent years. We’ve already seen some big players who used to play in the Premier League, who came to the Saudi league.”

Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr have already expressed interest, but nothing came of a transfer in either case.
