Woodruff had a time of 53.72, only being beaten by Femke Bol of the Netherlands, who had a time of 53.03.

After Woodruff they reached the finish line Janieve Russell, from Jamaica (53.77); Dalilah Muhammad, from the United States (53.83); Rushell Clayton of Jamaica (54.25); Viktoriya Tkachuk, from Ukraine (54.79); Anna Ryzhykova, from Ukraine (55.06); and Ayomide Folorunso, from Italy (55.86).

It should be noted that the time achieved by Woodruff was his second best personal best of his sports career in this specialty.
