Now I understand why a whole group of servicemen moved forward to deliver Fedotov to the draft board. It turns out that reliability is necessary here, otherwise they can hang back from the army. As ex-players of “Salavat” Ibragimov and Vorobyov.

The action of attracting the hero of the Beijing 2022 Olympics to the ranks of the armed forces of the Russian Federation in early July was a success. Judging by the time Ivan Fedotov was in the Navy training, the failed Philadelphia goalkeeper should have already taken the oath.

But Anvar Suleimanov and Mikhail Vorobyov are still successfully walking around in civilian life, although the latter admitted in court that he gave a bribe of 200 thousand rubles in order to avoid being drafted into the army.

On Monday, 22-year-old Suleimanov, who now defends the colors of the Kazan “Phoenix” in the VHL-B, for the same bribe received a five-year suspended sentence with a four-year probationary period. The state prosecutor also asked for a fine of three million rubles. However, the judge refused, taking into account the full admission of guilt by the hockey player.

Yesterday in Ufa, the case of 25-year-old Vorobyov was considered. The verdict for a similar crime – the purchase of a military ID – turned out to be fundamentally different: a fine of two million rubles – and that’s it! Although, according to the law, Mikhail could end up in prison for 12 years with a fine of up to 60 times the amount of the bribe.

The trick here is that Fedotov, Vorobyov and Suleimanov, who at one time played for Salavat Yulaev, were clients of, let’s say, one gentleman – a former traffic police officer Farit Samigullin, who was detained by law enforcement officers in the summer. He is for all three – and not only for them! – sort of like helping, of course, not free of charge to settle relations with the army.

What do we end up with? The vice-champion of the 2022 Olympics, the best goalkeeper of the KHL-2022, has been paying his debt to his homeland in Novaya Zemlya for two months now. And today, the president of CSKA, Igor Esmantovich, harshly denied the stuffing in the media about the imminent return of Fedotov to the camp of the capital’s army.

– The head of the club did not meet with Ivan Fedotov, as he serves in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Accordingly, there was no discussion, no contract exists. I would like to turn to journalists who are shamelessly and illiterately trying to promote themselves on this, and ask them to stop such speculations,” the official CSKA telegram channel says.

Suleimanov, thanks to a five-year term, essentially achieved his goal. Conditionally convicted are not subject to conscription, and by the end of the punishment he will reach the coveted 27 years, after which the military registration and enlistment office no longer bothers.

The position of Vorobyov is much more difficult, which tonight in St. Petersburg, it is quite possible, will take to the ice against Avangard. So far, the striker of the SKA trio has not missed a single game in the championship and spends the most time on the court among the forwards of the army.

But on October 1, another autumn draft campaign begins. If there are no double standards in Russia, Vorobyov is obliged to follow the path of Fedotov and fulfill the honorable duty of every citizen of the Russian Federation. Moreover, at the trial, Mikhail himself expressed a desire to go to the army at any time.

I would like to hope that the relevant military registration and enlistment office, in order to hand over the summons against signature, will not have to look for the leader of the SKA throughout the country. Moreover, to form a “detention group” for this.

The law is the same for everyone! Or the leadership of the St. Petersburg oligarch of the KHL argues differently?
