Garmin has just updated its product catalog with the new Garmin Venu Sq 2a smart watch that is presented as the direct successor to the original Venu Sq launched in 2020, and which is also part of a complete family that includes other proposals such as the Venu 2 Plus and Vívomove Sport.

We are facing a smart watch that is one of the cheapest of the brand and, although it has a good number of sports features, it is not exactly aimed at advanced athletes, but rather at general users. Let’s see the main novelties of the Garmin Venu Sq 2.

A watch that has autonomy as its flag

In the design section, the Garmin Venu Sq 2 retains the lines of the first generation. It consists of a rectangular box with curved edges. The body is made of fiber reinforced polymer and the anodized aluminum bezel. The glass is reinforced Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and the silicone strap. The weight? 38.0 grams.

The 1.4-inch touch screen has an A panelMOLED with resolution 320 x 360 pixels and mode always on optional. Here we see an update, since the original Garmin Venu Sq had a slightly smaller LCD screen, a 1.31-inch, with LCD technology, although also protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The strongest point of this update lies in the battery section. In smart watch mode we now have up to 11 days of autonomy (before 6 days) and in GPS mode 26 hours (before 14 hours). Also, if you want to squeeze more duration you can use the saving mode that provides up to 12 days of autonomy.

As we are dealing with a sports and health care proposal, it is worth noting the characteristics of this type. The Garmin Venu Sq 2 has a heart rate sensor, sleep tracking by combining information from sensors such as SpO2 and respiration rate analysis.

As in other models of the company, and also of other brands, users will have the ability to “measure their stress level” and receive relaxation reminders. As for sports, there are more than 25 preloaded workouts that include cardio, strength, yoga, HIIT and pilates. It also has 5 ATM water resistance.

Garmin Venu Sq 2 price and availability

The new Garmin Venu Sq 2 is now available for purchase in Spain. As is traditional in the brand, there are two options. The standard and a “Music” version, which allows you to store up to 500 songs from Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer on the device. Prices are as follows:
