After the handsome 1-3 win over Sclessin, OHL could confidently await KV Oostende at Den Dreef. The team from Leuven was able to connect with the virtual top three in the standings with a victory, Ostend mainly hoped to straighten its back after two difficult weeks.

The visitors also got off to a great start. After a weak intervention by OHL goalkeeper Cojocaru, Hornby only had to tap in the 0-1. OHL had to react, but didn’t seem in too much of a hurry. The home crowd also did not always seem to appreciate the slow build-up among the people of Leuven.

OHL came close to 1-1 via left back Mendyl, but in the end it was mainly happy that it was only 0-1 at half time. Ostend countered quickly and came very close to a double lead via Bätzner (twice) and Hornby. The uncertain OHL defense had to think about it during the break.

After the moment of reflection, the people from Leuven also came out of the dressing room better. Debutant Gonzalez kept two attackers off just after the break and kicked the equalizer tight across the corner. To redo everything.

What followed was an entertaining half hour, with chances on both sides. Ambrose and Atanga did not get past Cojocaru, Tamari did not complete a princely assist from Maertens.

A 1-1 seemed inevitable, until substitute Holzhauser sent Maertens into the lane just before time with a nice pass. The crowd favorite finished well eye to eye with Hubert, Den Dreef exploded. OHL thus finds a connection with the top three, KVO remains in the low middle bracket with a 0 out of 9.
