The Bundesliga starts the new season on August 5th. Just before the start of the season sky a change has now been announced.

The pay TV broadcaster is expanding its team of experts. Two ex-soccer players will join in the future sky standing at the microphone.

Sky: Two new faces in Bundesliga top game

if sky-Moderator Sebastian Hellmann on Saturday, August 6 (6.30 p.m.), welcoming the spectators to the first top game of the season (Borussia Dortmund – Bayer Leverkusen), and not only expert Lothar Matthäus will be standing next to him.

The pay TV broadcaster is getting female support. Ex-national players Julia Simic and Tabea Kemme expand Sky’s team of experts. Always alternating, they will accompany the top games with Hellmann and Matthäus.

Two ex-national players for Sky

Tabea Kemme played for 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam and FC Arsenal. In 2010 she won the Champions League with Potsdam, and in 2016 she was crowned Olympic champion with Germany. In 2020 she ended her career due to a serious knee injury.

Julia Simic played for FC Bayern Munich, Potsdam, Wolfsburg, Freiburg, West Ham United and AC Milan. With the Wolves she was cup winner and German champion.

Sky: This is what Bundesliga Saturday looks like

On Saturday afternoon, Sky relies on the tried and tested team: presenter Britta Hoffman and presenter Michael Leopold take turns and are supported by Sky expert Didi Hamann. Erik Meijer is also back with his analyses.



Ex-Bundesliga trainers Mirko Slomka and Manuel Baum will be used for the XXL highlight programs with immediate effect.

Sky still has to share the Bundesliga broadcasting rights with DAZN. Sky shows the entire Saturday and the English weeks, DAZN broadcasts the games on Friday and Sunday.
