At this time, the Oral Criminal Court (TOP) of Temuco, in the Araucanía Region, reads the verdict against Martín Pradenas Dürr, who is accused of seven sexual crimes committed against six victims.

In the first instance, he was found guilty for the rape of the 20-year-old Antonia Barra and for the sexual abuse of a minor that occurred in November 2010.

The magistrate in charge of reading the ruling warned of the need to judge from a gender perspective in cases like these. The judges indicated as a key element that they had heard the victim’s version “that transcended her physical existence”, in relation to audios sent by Antonia Barra to her friend Consuelo Uribe.

Pradenas, who has been serving preventive detention at the Valdivia Penitentiary Compliance Center since July 2020, is charged with seven crimes, five of sexual abuse and two of rape. The Public Ministry seeks to obtain sentences against the accused for a total of 41 years in prison.

On July 21, 2020, he had been formalized as the author of sexual assaults against six women between the ages of 13 and 21, acts committed between November 2010 and September 2019 in Temuco and Pucón.
