In addition to goal scorer Marco Reus, newcomer and defensive bulwark Nico Schlotterbeck also played a major role. The BVB star was always there and received a lot of praise from the audience.



There was a moment of shock for Schlotterbeck in the 54th minute when the defender suddenly ran into the players’ tunnel. He came back just a few minutes later. After the game, he explained that his shoulder needed a fracture.

“I was in excruciating pain. But thanks to the doctor, I was somehow able to keep playing.” A TV camera wanted to record the action, but Schlotterbeck and the doctor told him not to film. Luckily he was able to finish the game and score the three important points with BVB.
