Michael Raffl has decided to return to Europe after nine years in the NHL and has signed a two-year contract with HC Lausanne in Switzerland (read HERE>>>).

According to this, the 33-year-old from Villach on Lake Geneva earns a “higher six-figure net amount per season” per year, while the last NHL offers have been in the range of around 1.2 million US dollars per year – but gross.
As a father with two children, the proximity to home and a much more family-friendly schedule with significantly reduced travel stress should have been more than sufficient arguments to accept the new challenge.
