Höbinger leaves the German first division team

ÖFB team player leaves Turbine Potsdam




Austria international Marie-Therese Höbinger will not return to Turbine Potsdam and remains with her current club FC Zürich.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been on loan at the top Swiss club since the beginning of the year, where she will continue her career. Höbinger recently won the Swiss championship and cup with FC Zurich.

Her journey to Germany began in 2015, where Höbinger attended the sports school in Potsdam. In 2019, she played her first competitive game for Turbine. In total, the midfielder completed 52 competitive games for the six-time German champions.

The national player, who played three times for Austria at this year’s European Championships, says goodbye emotionally: “I came to Potsdam as a child and was able to learn from such great people, coaches and educators for years and through the best influence and the best environment every day work on myself. The time at Turbine shaped and shaped me and is now a part of me that I always carry with me.”

The 21-year-old paid particular attention to the people who have supported her over the years: “Thanks to all the people who have accompanied me, believed in me and supported me over the years. Thank you for all the wonderful friendships I have made closing and memories that I was allowed to collect and thanks to all the Turbine fans who have accompanied me on the way, who I hold dear to my heart and appreciate so much for all their love for the club.”

“I’m really looking forward to my new tasks in Zurich and I wish Turbine Potsdam all the best for the future,” says Höbinger.
