Enlarged pores can be irritating because they are visible even on well-groomed skin. Sometimes it’s hard to get rid of them, but you can use a few tricks to hide them.
What are enlarged pores?
Enlarged pores are basically the widened openings of the sebaceous glands. They appear on the skin as unsightly holes. They are very often the result of genetic predisposition, but improper care may also contribute to their appearance. They are rarely seen on dry and normal skin, but often occur on oily and combination skin, with a tendency to overproduce sebum. They most often appear on the forehead, nose and chin, and on the cheeks.
Such changes are not only unsightly, but also cause colored cosmetics that are applied to the skin to accumulate in them, emphasizing unevenness. However, enlarged pores are not a condition that you have to come to terms with. You can fight them and mask their presence.
Five ways to mask enlarged pores
Clean the pores
Proper skin cleansing is essential. It is very important to remove excess sebum and dirt from it, which is a great breeding ground for bacteria. This will also prepare her for the cosmetics party. The systematic exfoliation of the skin with peels also plays an important role, which will allow it to cleanse it deeply and prevent the formation of blackheads, pimples and even skin inflammations. Wiping the skin with a tonic will restore its proper pH and narrow the pores. Cosmetics should be selected according to the individual needs of the skin.
If you want to close enlarged pores, use a jade roller. Such a massage will additionally reduce swelling, stimulate blood circulation in the skin and make its appearance more radiant. You can also use a cooling face mask, ice cubes wrapped in a thin clean cloth, or slices of chilled cucumber, which will also lighten the skin.
Put a make-up base on the skin
The very application of the fluid can emphasize the enlarged pores on the face. In order to avoid the unwanted effect, it is worth using a make-up primer on sensitive areas (e.g. nose or chin). When the base is absorbed, you can apply fluid, which will make the skin smooth.
Reach for a sponge or brush
If so far the foundation has been applied with your fingers, it is worth changing. Much better coverage is provided by using a sponge or brush. Thanks to the stamping method, i.e. applying the cosmetic by pressing the aforementioned sponge or brush against the skin, it covers all imperfections more precisely and provides better coverage.
Avoid shimmering particles
Not all cosmetics are suitable for skin with enlarged pores. In this case, it is better to give up shimmering particles, pollen and glitter. Excessive illumination of problematic parts of the skin will highlight all imperfections. Matte cosmetics will work best, making the skin appear smoother.
