Bulgaria indefinitely suspended the issuance of tourist visas to Russians, as well as visas for property owners. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

The consulate explained the suspension of acceptance of documents by the “current emergency situation,” writes ATOR. The Bulgarian authorities have not officially announced such a decision.

Earlier on August 5, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced persona non grata of 14 employees of the diplomatic mission and consular offices of Bulgaria.

After that, the Prime Minister of the country’s technical government, Gylyb Donev, said that the work of the Bulgarian consulate in St. Petersburg was now called into question. He also added that the country’s government is looking for a way to solve this problem, writes Then24 with reference to the Bulgarian TV channel.

At the end of June, the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to reduce the number of Russian employees of diplomatic missions in the country to 23 diplomats and 25 technical staff. At the same time, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry handed over to the Russian ambassador a list of 70 people who were ordered to leave the country by July 3.
