The National Authority for Public Services (ASEP)) approved this Tuesday extend for 180 days the term of intervention of the company Digicel Panamaa decision that will guarantee the users and clients of this telephone company to continue with the service on a regular basis.
Through AN Resolution No. 17814-Telco of August 2, 2022, the ASEP resolved to extend this additional period for 180 days of intervention to the company Digicel
The intervention of company is covered by article 51 of Law 31 of February 8, 1996 and clause 73.9 of the Concession Contract No.10-2008 of May 27, 2008, signed between the concessionary company Digicel and the Panamanian State.
After being authorized by the Cabinet Council to intervene Digicel Panama, ASEP appointed Alex Anel Arroyo as case controller to ensure customer service.
Users will also be guaranteed coverage in areas of operationavailability of prepaid cards in stores nationwide, commitment to suppliers and users are encouraged to continue paying for contracted services.
This process is part of the strategy implemented to guarantee the continuity of the service.
Digicel Group started operations in the Republic of Panama in 2008 for the cell phone market.
