The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation demanded that Elisabeth Ellingsen, an employee of the Norwegian consulate in Murmansk, leave Russia.

According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Norwegian Ambassador Rune Resaland has been summoned to the ministry. He received a “strong protest in connection with the unacceptable behavior” of Ellingsen in a hotel in Murmansk on July 6, when she “allowed herself offensive Russophobic remarks.”

We noted that the statement of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressing regret over this outrageous incident was taken into account by us. However, they emphasized that after the incident, Ellingsen’s stay in the territory of the Russian Federation is impossible.

On July 30, Mash posted a video of a woman yelling at workers at an unnamed hotel in Murmansk, speaking obscenely to them, and saying, among other things, that she “hates Russians.” Mash claimed that the recording was Elisabeth Ellingsen, who has been working at the Norwegian Consulate in Murmansk since 2019 as an administrative consul.
