The team that makes up the Catamarca Delegation of the “Oscar Masotta Institute” (IOM2) presents a proposal open to the community at the hands of a renowned professional in the field of psychoanalysis.
Roxana Chiatti, teacher and psychoanalyst member of the Lacanian Orientation School (EOL) Córdoba section and the World Association of Psychoanalysis (AMP), on this occasion will give the conference “The crossroads of sexuation”, in which she will address the Subjectivation processes that subjects go through to take a sexual position, that is, make a choice regarding sexuality.
The event will take place next Friday, August 12 at 10 am in the facilities of the Casa de la Cultura (San Martín 533). It is a non-tariff activity and open to the entire Catamarcan community.
Sofía Zuliani, a professional member of the IOM2 local delegation team, stated that the speaker “will guide us on the point that psychoanalysis teaches, addressing the ways of enjoying each person, at a time when the clinic confronts us with a loss of the symbolic power of the word and then the body is in charge, with the current symptoms being its letter of introduction. Symptoms that are not directed at the Other, remaining in a solitary jouissance and that confront us with a challenge”.
In addition, he highlighted that “it is precisely for this reason that we met to work on it and invite those interested to participate in this open conference.”
The “Oscar Masotta” Institute (IOM2) is responsible for the transmission of psychoanalysis and the politics of the Lacanian Orientation School (EOL) in the interior of Argentina. The institution is organized into research centers, teaching centers and delegations in several cities in the interior and has the auspices of the Institut du Champ freudien based in Paris and the Department of Psychoanalysis of the University of Paris VIII.
The Catamarca Delegation, for its part, has been in charge of bringing Lacanian Psychoanalysis closer to our province since 2015 and works in an articulated manner with the provinces of San Juan, San Luis and La Rioja, constituting the region of the new Cuyo.
In addition, it carries out various activities, including the Annual Clinical Seminar, aimed at transmitting the teaching of psychoanalysis and aimed at practitioners and interested readers. It also has a library with reference material currently located in the College of Psychology Professionals and develops other training activities, such as the introductory space, the clinical workshop and different research groups. An important aspect of their work also has to do with outreach activities, such as book presentations, round tables and conferences on current issues of local interest, which combine various topics, such as addictions, autism, malaise in culture and its actuality, among others, with different discourses, such as philosophy, literature and general culture.
