Seven years ago, Ronda Rousey was scheduled to star in the 1989 remake of the cult film Roadhouse. At that time, Rhonda was a UFC champion and already had filming experience, she was supposed to play the female version of the character, played by Patrick Swayze. The film never came out, and Rosie ceased to be interested in this topic.
Now the project has received a new life, and one of the roles should take on the legendary fighter Conor McGregor.
McGregor’s press secretary Karen Kessler said: “Conor is thrilled to continue his legendary career in Hollywood. Roadhouse is a beloved classic, but combat remains a top priority for him. He really wants to try his hand at cinema.”
It is not yet known about McGregor’s role in the upcoming project.
The film will be filmed in the Dominican Republic and will star Jake Gyllenhaal as a UFC fighter. In general, Conor expects another interesting step, and maybe a new job. Nothing much is yet known about his return to MMA, but it is dragging on again.
