DN-III plan activated by miners trapped in Coahuila, reports AMLO

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) reported that the Ministry of National Defense (Sedena) activated the DN-III plan, with 92 elements, specialists and four canine pairs, to rescue the miners who were trapped in Sabinas, Coahuila.

Through his Twitter account, the president Lopez Obrador indicated that the undersecretary of National Defense, Agustín Radilla, informed him about the application of the plan DN-III in the mining area.

“At the last minute, the Undersecretary of National Defense, General Agustín Radilla, informs me that the DN-III plan is already being applied and 92 elements of the Ministry of National Defense are in place with specialists and four canine pairs.”

The president indicated that at 1:35 p.m. the collapse occurred in the coal mine and this caused the sinkhole where the miners were trapped to be flooded.

“The Secretaries of Labor and Security, Civil Protection, the Army, rescuers and authorities of the region are already acting. We hope to find them safe.”

Also, the head of the National Civil Protection Coordination, Laura Velázquez Alzúa, traveled to Sabinas, in Coahuila, to coordinate the rescue actions of the workers trapped in the “Las Agujitas” mine, on the instructions of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
