UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin and European Commissioner for Gender Equality Helena Dalli have agreed on a strengthened partnership at the final of the European Women’s Championship in England.
UEFA announced this on its website on Tuesday. The European Football Union and the European Union had already adopted a cooperation association on June 9th.
Equality, diversity and integration are now to be promoted through the 2024 men’s football championship and the 2025 women’s championship. “Sport not only has the power to overcome barriers, but also to build bridges,” says Dalli.
“Together with UEFA we are making our position clear: we say no to all forms of discrimination and hatred and together we will use football to shape the world we all want to live in.”
