the vice president Cristina Kirchner received trade unionists Pablo Moyano, Omar Plaini, Walter Correa and Mario Manrique on Monday in his Senate office. There they talked about the main concerns that they see in Argentina today, they made an overview hours before the assumption of Sergio Massa at the head of Economy and the points on which they must continue working.
consulted by AM750, the Deputy Secretary of Smata, Mario ‘Paco’ Manriqueassured that It was a “very pleasant meeting”, and confirmed that it was requested before the changes in the national Cabinet were announced.
“We talked about the situation in the country. Beyond the concern that we all have, including the vice president, we have faith in this new scheme that was put together. We hope that it will turn the economic policy upside down in order to attend to the social”, pointed out the trade unionist.
In particular, Manrique clarified that they did not talk about social plans, “but about being able to get together, analyze how to create genuine employment, so that unemployed colleagues can access the formal market.”
“Beyond the analysis, we raised our concerns with him and told him that we are available to help incorporate Argentines into the formal market. For us, we must begin to have a better distribution of income. The problem is very big and so are the expectations”, he launched.
In this sense, warned that the arrival of Massa “is the last chance we have to do the things that have to be done.” “One always hopes that things will turn out better. It is an enormous chance to be able to reinvent ourselves as a government”, he said.
But he clarified: “We are going to have to take measures that will bother some. We cannot continue with the inflation we have and nobody can put a brake on prices. We must combat the speculation of certain businessmen. Let’s hope that comrade Massa can have an economic plan that points to a better distribution of wealth. That the problems can be solved”.
