Cristiano Ronaldo is the most abused player in the Premier League, according to a Twitter study.
In the first half of last season, more than 2.3 million tweets were examined, including 60,000 insults. A fifth (12,520) of that was aimed at the Portuguese, 4,000 of them on the day he announced he was back for the Red Devils.
Second in this inglorious list is Harry Maguire, a team-mate of the 2016 European champions. The Manchester United captain suffered a lot when he apologized via his Twitter profile after losing to city rivals Manchester City. He received 2,903 tweets with insults at the time.
