Out of gratitude: Bayern Star with a big gesture

Alphonso Davies made a big announcement on Twitter on Tuesday.

The Bayern star announces that he will donate all his earnings from the World Cup in Qatar.

“Canada welcomed me and my family and gave us the opportunity to have a better life and pursue my dreams. It’s a great honor to play for Canada and I want to give something back, so I’ve decided to donate the proceeds to donate to charity for this year’s World Cup,” said the 21-year-old.

Davies fled to Canada with his parents at the age of five after being born to his Liberian mother in a refugee camp in Ghana.

Canada meets Belgium, Croatia and Morocco in the difficult Group F at the World Cup. The North Americans play their opening game on November 23 against Belgium.
