Surprise this morning, the site of the online store of the operator telco Orange displayed a legal communication.
A text which mentions his conviction last year by the Paris court, for having implemented “a misleading commercial practice” in the marketing of “4G / 5G” packages.
The reproach ? Not presenting “under satisfactory conditions” the restrictions of use made to this service, with regard on the one hand to the effective availability of the 5G network and on the other hand to the minimum speeds actually available.

But Orange, beyond the legal obligation which made it publish this judicial communication, let it be known in a following text, entitled “find out more”, to contest “the terms of this decision”, and to have made an appeal.
As a reminder, Orange was criticized for failing to present to its customers the effective availability of the 5G network on French territory. Just like the minimum flows actually available. A map of France showing the areas covered was absent when the first offers were marketed. Adding a map did not solve the problem, as it was unusable from a practical point of view.
