Who is Juan José Bahillo?

Juan José Bahillo, according to NA, is a 56-year-old dairy farmer. He started his political career in 2003, when he was elected provincial deputy for the Front for Victory. As a legislator from Entre Ríos, he was president of the Finance and Budget Commission, and head of the Justicialist Party bloc. In 2007 he took office as mayor of Gualeguaychú and four years later he became the first re-elected community chief of that city. Later, he was re-elected as a provincial deputy and was later elected as a national deputy. In Congress he was one of the vice presidents of the Committee on Agriculture.

With the appointment of Bahillo, Massa is completing the cabinet that will accompany him in his new role as superminister. On Monday, it was announced that the economist Raúl Rigo will serve as Secretary of the Treasury, a position he held during the Martín Guzmán administration. Meanwhile, Jorge Domper will be Undersecretary of Budget and Claudia Balestrini Undersecretary of Public Revenue.

Massa also appointed Eduardo Setti as Secretary of Finance, who will be joined by Leandro Toriano, Natalia Capurso and Celeste Izquierdo on the team. He also appointed Lisandro Cleri as First Vice President of the Central Bank, while Leonardo Madcur will be the head of the Ministry’s Advisors.

Changes in the Chamber of Deputies

Likewise, the changes have already begun within the Chamber of Deputies. Although there are still no certainties about who will be Sergio Massa’s replacement in the presidency of the Lower House, it is already confirmed that Juan Marino will occupy his bench in deputies. The man who will sit in his place was number 29 on the list where the Gender Parity Law already existed. The substitute for the former candidate for President is 34 years old and has a strong influence on picketer organizations.
