The municipality of Timmendorfer Strand in Schleswig-Holstein is located in the district of Ostholstein between Scharbeutz and Travemünde. The coastal town is well frequented again in this high season – too well, as a local thinks.
She had tried the bicycle road in the direction of Niendorf for the first time and was completely exhausted afterwards. “Far too little space in the Strandallee area in Timmendorf,” she assesses the situation. Above all, the cars – parked or driving – would completely occupy the space. There would be no way through for cyclists.

“It’s just borderline,” the resident thinks. “I hope that there will be another solution very quickly, because that hasn’t been implemented well.” She doesn’t understand the problem in Timmendorfer Strand. “It’s also possible in other coastal towns.”
