What a fuss in the formula 1!

Currently is the formula 1 Although it’s the summer break, there’s still a lot going on. The main protagonists: Alpine and junior driver Oscar Piastri. Mick Schumacher takes a very close look.

Formula 1: Huge excitement about the pilot!

What happened? On Monday (1 August) Fernando Alonso announced that he is leaving Alpine for the coming season and will join Aston Martin. The French team apparently filled that gap just a day later with Oscar Piastri. But the young Alpine driver denied the agreement on Twitter.

“Alpine F1 issued a press release this evening, without my consent, that I will be driving for the team next year. That’s wrong. I have no contract with Alpine for 2023 and will not be driving for them,” wrote the young Australian.

How this misunderstanding came about remains a mystery. On the other hand, it should be pretty clear: Alpine now has a huge problem – the damage to its image can hardly be repaired.

Formula 1: Does Mick Schumacher benefit from the cockpit theater?

Meanwhile, there is also speculation as to whether Piastri already has an agreement with another team. Williams and McLaren were repeatedly mentioned as possible buyers. McLaren in particular is said to be particularly interested in Piastri. Exactly where the young pilot will land may become apparent in the next few weeks.

Talks will probably be held with Haas soon, but is there a place at McLaren or Alpine? If the parties mentioned do not agree, Mick Schumacher could possibly benefit and then maybe secure a seat for next year.

It didn’t work out with a place at Aston Martin, even though Sebastian Vettel supported Mick Schumacher (read more here). (oa)
