Disney +: “Toy Story” offshoot “Lightyear” starts on Wednesday – at THIS time it goes online
to infinity, Disney+ and much more! The prequel to the “Toy Story” hero Buzz Lightyear is now also available from the home screen.
Just seven weeks after its theatrical debut, Holt Disney+ the new animated filmLightyear‘ in his programme. If you want to be one of the first customers to see the flick on stream, pay close attention.
After a mega flop at the box office: “Lightyear” starts on Disney+
Fans of the “Toy Story” series shouldn’t miss this release: The new film “Lightyear” covers the history of Andy’s toys. The character Buzz Lightyear is actually based on a “real” space ranger – at least that’s what he is in the animated film universe.
The story follows Buzz Lightyear who is stranded on a hostile planet with his commander and best friend Alisha Hawthorne. As they try to get back home, they quickly realize that they have to overcome some obstacles.
In Germany, the film was released in cinemas on June 16th. However, the hoped-for sales at the box office did not materialize. On a $200 million production budget, Lightyear grossed just $219 million. The film is nevertheless celebrated by the fans: they praise it to the skies on numerous rating portals.

Disney+ releases “Lightyear” at 9 a.m. in Germany
If you want to see the film again or even for the very first time, you should set your alarm clock on Wednesday (3 August) for 9 a.m. sharp. Then “Lightyear” will appear in the German Disney+ media library.
This means that German customers are even ahead of some fans. While in this country you can switch on right after breakfast, fans in Australia have to wait until 7 p.m. (local time), as “What’s On Disney Plus” reports. In the USA, “Lightyear” only appears at midnight or 3 a.m.
