Veracruz.- The Migration’s national institute (INM), managed to rescue 45 foreign migrants who were traveling hidden in the bed of a tractor-trailer in the state of Veracruzannounced the dependency of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob).
According to what was reported, the truck in which the migrants were traveling appeared to only be transporting industrial scrap, however, the group of migrants was inside it.
As detailed, the group of migrants was made up of 20 people from Venezuela, nine from the Dominican Republic, five from Ecuador, three from Bangladesh and one from each of the following countries; Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua. In the group it was detected that 11 of them are women and 34 men.
The rescue was carried out by elements of the National Guard in cooperation with INM who requested the support of the elements to help the migrants, this after the migrants were located inside the truck in the state of Veracruz.
When opening the rear door of the cargo transport, only crushed metal sheets, tubes, lids and cans were visible; however, behind it people’s voices could be heard.
In the lower right part of the wall that formed the industrial waste, a passage was revealed in which only one person could enter or exit – on his knees.
Upon entering the compartment, mattresses were found between cyclone mesh walls that were attached to tubular structures, where foreign migrants were taken without ventilation.
