The open wound continues in the Frente de Todos: "Martín Guzmán's resignation was poorly managed"

The Chamber of Deputies will hold a special session for the resignation of Sergio Massa

The Chamber of Deputies tomorrow will hold a special session with the aim of considering the resignation of the owner of the body, Serge Massawho will assume as «super minister” of Economy. They will take the oath of his replacement as a common deputy of the Front of All and will formalize the succession in the presidency of the Lower House. All this will happen this Tuesday from 2:00 p.m.after a meeting of Parliamentary Work, in a brief session that will be chaired -as established by the Regulation- by the first vice president, the PRO Mendoza Omar de Marchi.

According to NA, the session was requested to the Presidency by the head of the pro-government caucus, Germán Martínez from Santa Fe. He was accompanied at the signatures by his peers from the Frente de Todos Cecilia Moreau, Paula Penacca, Daniel Brue, Lía Caliva, Marcelo Casaretto, Silvana Ginocchio, José Luis Gioja, Leonardo Grosso, Itai Hagman, Blanca Osuna, Gabriela Pedrali, Vanesa Siley and Hugo Yaski.

Expectations in the Chamber of Deputies

The most anticipated of the ceremony will be the farewell words of the leader of the Renovating Front. He could have chosen to request the use of leave as a national deputy, but he preferred to resign as a demonstration of commitment to the position that he will assume in the Executive Power. There are expectations about the issue that he will deal with at the head of the Lower House.

The other milestone of the session will be when Germán Martínez proposes the name of the successor in the ownership of the body: Cecilia Moreau is on point, in massismo they give it “almost as a fact”, according to what parliamentary sources from that space pointed out to NA. Whoever is designated will approach the podium in the center of the hemicycle to take the oath and will receive the applause of the benches. Already invested or invested in the Presidency of Deputies, he will take De Marchi’s chair in the session, from where he will offer his first words in the new role.

Cecilia Moreau as the main candidate

If Cecilia Moreau is confirmed, she will be the first female president in the history of the Chamber of Deputies, whose beginnings date back to 1854. At 45 years of age, the daughter of the historic radical leader turned ultra-Kirchnerist Leopoldo Moreau was a militant of the UCR since his youth and left the centenary party in 2014 to join the ranks of Sergio Massa’s Renovating Front. In 2015, she was elected national deputy for the UNA seal and in 2019 she was re-elected for the Frente de Todos, in both cases representing the province of Buenos Aires. Currently, she is deputy head of the ruling caucus and president of the General Legislation Commission.

Cecilia Moreau belongs to the most progressive wing of massism and has cultivated an excellent link with Kirchnerism and in particular with Máximo Kirchner at the time when he was president of the ruling bloc and she accompanied him as deputy chief. Also, Ella Moreau usually praises the Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof, who together with Cristina and Máximo Kirchner make up the essential triad of the purest Kirchnerism. When Máximo resigned as head of the caucus, she put his resignation at her disposal, but it was not accepted and she continued in the same place.
