Ekaterra, which owns the Lipton, Saito and Brooke Bond brands, has announced its exit from the Russian market.
As stated in message company, the production of tea under its brands will cease before the end of 2022. Brands will disappear from stores a little later – after the last batches are sold out.
Ekaterra noted that they will fulfill their obligations to employees under the current Russian legislation.
Now only Lipton and Brook Bond tea bags are sold in Russia. From the sale of loose leaf tea of these brands, Unilever, previously which owned Ekaterra, withdrew in April 2022.
According to marketing researchLipton is the most famous tea brand in Russia: in 2019, 79% of the country’s tea drinkers said they were familiar with this brand.
