“I spoke to Lawrence, of course, and told him I wasn’t going to continue. And we also had a brief conversation about what could come next,” Vettel revealed on the sidelines of the Hungarian GP that he had already suggested a successor to the team boss.
And the four-time world champion continues: “I have my opinion on that. I think a lot of Mick. Of course I’m not completely objective because I’m very close to him, but I think he’s a great driver.” But instead of putting Mick Schumacher in the cockpit for 2023, Aston Martin announced on Monday (1 August) that Fernando Alonso received a multi-year contract.
