Some 21 teachers unions yesterday signed the agreement to end the strike and restart classes today, which will last until December 30 and the vacation week from September 12 to 16 is abolished.
Classes for the second quarter run from August 2 to October 7. The third trimester will now be from October 10th to December 30th.
November 2 (All Souls’ Day) is maintained as civic and, on November 3, 4, 10 and 28, there will be no classes for the national holidays, nor on December 8 (Mother’s Day). Mondays, December 26, 2022 and January 2, 2023 are free, as they are preceded by holiday Sundays whose national holidays extend to the next day.
Some 5 unions will sign the strike settlement on Wednesday in Penonomé, where the Ministry of Education promised “not to take administrative, disciplinary or any kind of retaliation against educators, vocational instructors and all educational personnel who participated in the strike ” .
During yesterday’s signing it was clarified that teachers can resume work today, without the need to require additional documentation to what was agreed yesterday.
