The Austrian volleyball men start the race for the EM 2023 on Wednesday.
The qualification starts in Ried against Latvia (Tickets are available HERE>>>), where the first international match will take place in the volleyball hall that will be built in 2021.
A week later there is an away game against Finland, on August 14th and 21st there will be the return games. On August 14th Finland will be guest in Austria (Tickets are available HERE>>>).
As group winners, the Austrians could qualify for the European Championships, which will take place in Bulgaria, Italy, North Macedonia and Israel in 2023.

ÖVV head coach Radovan Gacic is already looking forward to the games: “The preparations went well, we were able to improve step by step in the friendlies. All the players are fit and are looking forward to the opening game in Ried. Everyone is really looking forward to the Raiffeisen Volleydome and of course wishes many fans in the hall. The quality of the teams promises good volleyball. The goal is clear: we want to go to the European Championships!”
Team captain Peter Wohlfahrtstätter (pictured above) is particularly looking forward to the fans in Ried: “We’ve been preparing for six weeks, we’ve had our friendlies and now the first qualifying game will be really exciting. Those are exactly the games we’re training for “We’re happy to be in Ried. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the hall and the fan atmosphere here. Finally another game with the national team in front of a home crowd and with the families of the players – we’re obviously hoping for a successful start! “
