“Layla” forbidden! After Bavaria, the NRW fair is now also deleting the Ballermann hit
Not only in Mallorca in the Bierkönig is the Ballermann hit “layla“ straight through the roof: The song is currently number 1 in the German charts. But a fair organizer from NRW doesn’t seem to like the song.
The organizer of the Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf (NRW) bans the catchy tune “layla‘ even at the popular festival.
“Layla” in NRW banned at the Rheinkirmes!
“I have a puff and my puff mom’s name is Layla, she’s prettier, younger, hornier” – almost everyone in Germany has these lines in their ears at the moment. But because of exactly this line, the Ballermann hit by DJ Robin and Schürze has been criticized.

The content shocked the city of Würzburg so much that they banned the song at the Kiliani folk festival. Now the organizer of the Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf is following suit: “I think this song belongs everywhere – just not on our fairground,” said Schützen boss Lothar Inden of the German Press Agency.
“Layla” in NRW: THAT’S why organizer Ban Ballermann-Hit
The city of Düsseldorf had previously reached an agreement with the organizer. According to a spokeswoman, there was no need for a ban because the shooters had agreed not to play the song in the marquees and rides. The rifle chief told the dpa that the text did not match the values of the traditional club.
More news from NRW:
There will also be a Mallorca party at the Rheinkirmes, which runs from July 15th to July 24th. The party song “Layla” will not be on the DJ playlist.
In the meantime, the city of Düsseldorf has also commented on the case. The Equal Opportunities Officer of the state capital Düsseldorf, Elisabeth Wilfart, contacted the organizer of the Düsseldorf Rheinkirmes against the background of a debate about playing the song “Layla”, according to a statement.

The fair is a popular festival. The folk festival is popular with young and old. Many families with children visit the fair.
“Layla” in NRW: The city’s ban was neither planned nor wanted
“A corresponding sensitivity, especially against this background, is important,” says Wilfart. “As equal opportunities officer, I would therefore welcome it if at least the public discussion that has now been initiated about song lyrics, which are in the area of conflict between artistic freedom, discrimination and sexism, led to a corresponding sensitization leads.”
