Honored Coach of Russia Vladimir Kamelzon spoke about the entry of Russian woman Elena Rybakina, who plays for Kazakhstan, to the final of the British Open Tennis Championship.

“Her entry to the final is, first of all, the victory of Russian tennis. This is a Soviet-era school that has retained its relevance, and their coaches work on the basis of the methods that have been developed since those times, ”Then24 quotes Kamelzon.

He stressed that the Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) should not let such players as Rybakin go. In his opinion, any girl can win Wimbledon. However, Rybakina caught the courage in the current draw.

“I would offer her to jump even higher, this is the rarest opportunity,” he concluded.

The 23-year-old Muscovite (17th seed) in the semifinal match defeated Simone Halep (16th) from Romania in two sets with a score of 6:3, 6:3.

Rybakina represented Russia until 2018. Later, she changed her sports citizenship to Kazakh. For the first time in her career, the Russian has reached the final of the Grand Slam tournament.

In the other semi-final, the representative of Tunisia, Ons Jaber, defeated the German tennis player Tatiana Maria (6:2, 3:6, 6:1).

Earlier, the head of the Russian Tennis Federation, Shamil Tarpishchev, commented on Rybakina’s entry into the final of the British Open.
