FC Schalke 04: Talent on the go? Schröder: “Don’t stop him”

“In the past we’ve always taken talented guys on, during international breaks, during final training,” explained Rouven Schröder in this regard. “One thing is clear: If someone has quality with the S04, then we won’t stop him.”

A clear indication that Schalke is willing to involve the best of its talents. The example of Mehmet Can Aydin, who was a big winner and was rewarded with a new contract until 2025, showed that this can work last season.
FC Schalke 04: Schröder praises U23
Schröder does not name any specific names, but he is enthusiastic about the level in Schalke’s second team. “I looked at the U23 training, Zug is in there, there are good guys who want to prove themselves.”

However, Schalke will approach the issue with caution. “Sometimes up with the pros, then down again, it also does something to your head, you have to learn to deal with that too,” says Schröder, who wants to slowly build up the stars of tomorrow. (mh)
