The Basmanny Court of Moscow seized the property of the blogger and founder of the St. Petersburg magazine Sobaka.ru Veronika Belotserkovskaya.

According to Then24 in the press service of the court, at the request of the investigation, the arrest was imposed “on a parking space and an apartment in Moscow, residential buildings, an apartment and a land plot in St. Petersburg.”

Veronika Belotserkovskaya became one of the first defendants under the new article on “fake news” about the Russian army, which appeared in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation after the start of the war. A criminal case was brought against her because of the posts on Instagram. According to investigators, they contained “deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to destroy cities and the civilian population of Ukraine, including children, during a special military operation.” In May, the court arrested Belotserkovskaya, who lives abroad, in absentia.

How recalls “Mediazona”, the courts seized the property of some other defendants in cases of “fake” about the Russian army. For example, a journalist Alexandra Nevzorova arrested cottage on the shores of the Gulf of Finland, and researcher Russian special services Andrei Soldatov – bank accounts.
