The federal government is considering the creation of a National Anti-Extortion Commission informed the Secretary of the Interior (Segob), Adam Augusto Lopez.

“In the federal government, we are analyzing the creation of a national commission, just as the National Anti-kidnapping Commission works, a National Anti-extortion Commission, and San Luis Potosí and Baja California would be the pilot states, it would be where that would start, because it is in the states where extortion in all its forms has skyrocketed and we are obliged as a Federation to support it with everything,” said Adán Augusto López, Secretary of the Interior.

Without defining the number of elements that the new Anti-extortion Commission will have

Interviewed after attending the Coordination Meeting on Infrastructure, Development and Public Security in San Luis Potosí, the Secretary of the Interior said that the number of elements that this new Anti-extortion Commission.

“Work is still underway, it is being outlined, we still do not know, we do not define how many elements it will have at the national level, but the commitment is that it starts here in San Luis Potosí,” explained Adán Augusto López, Secretary of the Interior.

Asked about insecurity in San Luis Potosí, he said that the governor has managed to keep the number of intentional homicides from increasing, close to 500 in 8 monthsand recognized that this is serious, but not critical.

Will wait for the “times of the Lord”

“It is a serious situation, I would not say that it is critical, it is a situation that occupies, the governor made a special request that is to reinforce crime prevention work with 400 members of the National Guard and that is how we are going to do it”, assured Adán Augusto López, Secretary of the Interior.

Nearly 400 members of the National Guard will arrive at the entity no later than 15 days, he specified.

Asked about his presidential aspirations, he reiterated that he will wait for the Lord’s time, and endorsed the survey method that his party, Morena, will apply.
